The Cloud Opportunity

In 2013 the Government introduced a ‘Cloud First’ policy, meaning that public sector organisations should consider and fully evaluate cloud solutions before considering any other option.

With an ever growing choice of purchasing frameworks for cloud computing, public sector organisations need  help to navigate the various choices available to them. We have also used data from previous event polls and  our post event delegate surveys to build the agenda around topics that the public sector needs help with.

Government Business Magazine has worked with the Crown Commercial Service in order to explore and  promote the benefits of using the purchasing frameworks throughout local government and the wider public sector. And in 2019, prior to the COVID 19 pandemic, the G Cloud 11 Summit took place in London, where like minded procurement professionals gathered to meet experts with innovative solutions.

Building on the success of January’s G-Cloud 12 Summit, held online, and with the delay of the next iteration, G-Cloud 13, until next year, the Public Sector Cloud Computing event aims to bring together key speakers to advise our audience and answer their questions.

The event will look at how Cloud Computing can help public sector organisations, how the issue of Security can be overcome and Big Data & Analytics. We will also look at how the public sector can reduce its environmental impact by using cloud facilities by means of a session on Net Zero Cloud Computing.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the Public Sector Cloud Computing event will be staged online in October, using the innovative online event platform, developed by the Government Business parent company, Public Sector Information Ltd. The event will feature keynote presentations from industry experts as well as giving suppliers the opportunity to showcase their technology to buyers. Live polls will give insight to the issues public sector organisations face with Q&A sessions giving our suppliers the opportunity to show how they can help.
